Getting Pregnant –Plan It

  • ·         Preparing financially for getting pregnant
  • ·         Preparing emotionally for getting pregnant
  • ·         Preparing physically for gettting pregnant

Getting pregnant is a particular expensive experience that begins with your preconception (physical) and ends when your child is independently, financially solvent. On average, that is approximately 35-40 years.  There may be no way that you are able to be fully prepared to support another person for that long. However, before getting pregnant, you should be financially stable enough to support the child in the same style, which you are living currently.

While finances are stretched during pregnancy, emotions are going to be explosive for both you and your mate.  One of the first issues every couple needs to discuss before getting pregnant is the reason you are choosing to have a child at this time.

Getting pregnant takes a toll on your body and you need to be in top physical condition. That means that you need to have good muscle tone, be eating healthy foods, getting the proper nutrition and be mentally healthy as well. Getting pregnant can exacerbate depression, for example.  If you are depressed more than you are content, you may need to see a doctor.

Getting Pregnant – What Are the Alternative Options?

  • ·         Getting pregnant by fertility treatment
  • ·         Getting pregnant by implantation
  • ·         Adoption
  • ·         Foster care parenting

Fertility treatment and embryonic implantation take a great deal of time and money. Getting pregnant using this method is a very complicated process and not every couple is candidates for the procedures.  If you are having a great deal of difficulty getting pregnant, make an appointment with a fertility specialist if you wish to consider either of these options.

For many couples, adoption or even foster care is a viable option, especially if you are not enamored of infants. There are thousands of children that are in need of stable parenting for many hundreds of different reasons. Unless changing diapers has some very important significance to you, you may decide to opt for an older child in need of your love and redirection.

Getting Pregnant – What Are the Symptoms?

  • ·         Sleepiness and fatigue
  • ·         Sore or tender breasts
  • ·         Implantation spotting
  • ·         Change in menstrual cycle
  • ·         Craving or Aversion to certain foods
  • ·         Morning sickness

One of the first symptoms of getting pregnant occurs within the first 12 days of conception, an overwhelming fatigue may settle in and you find it difficult to impossible to stay awake.  This is a very common initial sign of getting pregnant.

Another is that breasts become very tender even to the touch of a bra.  When you get pregnant, the fetus attaches to your uterine wall and this attachment can cause some spotting.  Often, this spotting is mistaken for an interim or early period. Any changes in menstruation can be a symptom of pregnancy. However, any of these symptoms can also be indications of other problems that your body may be experiencing.  The only way to be certain is to see a doctor.

The most notable of symptoms when getting pregnant are morning sickness, which usually appears in the first 3 to 8 weeks.  Not all pregnant women get morning sickness, however. The other famous symptom is the craving of foods that you hated until then.

On the other end of the spectrum is the aversion to food – usually eggs – especially when men are eating them for breakfast.  Women are known for bursting into tears and having to leave the room followed closely by a man who is wondering what on earth he did.  Eventually, he swears he will never eat another egg – he’s lying but he won’t do it in front of you.

Getting Pregnant – What Is the Process?

  • ·         Ovulation
  • ·         Fertilization
  • ·         Implantation

When you want to try getting pregnant, you need to know when you will be ovulating.  As a rule of thumb, ovulation takes place 1 – 2 weeks after your menstrual cycle ends. Ask your doctor about tests and indicators that will most be your most likely time to ovulate.

An egg can be fertilized any time within 24 hours after presenting itself. Fertilization is done usually by only one sperm puncturing the wall of the egg.  However, it is possible that two eggs are fertilized simultaneously if present. Once an egg is fertilized, it attaches itself to the uterine wall. This is the implantation process and up until this point, you are getting pregnant.  Once implantation occurs, you are pregnant.

Getting Pregnant – What Medicines Can Be Taken at Different Stages?

  • ·         Allergy and cold
  • ·         Nausea and Vomiting
  • ·         Heartburn, constipation or diarrhea

Before taking any medications for even the slightest ailment, ask your physician’s advice. When getting pregnant you may have a condition that will cause an adverse reaction to even over-the-counter medications.  That said, the above complaints are the three most common experienced when getting pregnant. If you want to be prepared for having a baby, here are tips that you should know about getting pregnant.  In this rapid moving, high stress, work harder world of business that so many women are involved in, actually thinking about getting pregnant can be daunting.

Getting Pregnant – Top 5 Things to Keep in Mind

  • ·         Make sure you have a healthy diet before, during and after
  • ·         If you are more than 20 lbs overweight, get your weight down
  • ·         Have a complete physical before including an EKG
  • ·         Give up your favorite bad habits in advance
  • ·         Create and follow an exercise program if getting pregnant

One of the most important aspects of being able to become pregnant is your dietary habits.  Fast foods and processed foods do not provide sufficient nutrient intake for a woman who is getting pregnant.  The most common vitamin that is needed for a women’s diet is Vitamin A.  Vitamin supplements can help to a degree but there are underlying support booster that are found in foods that are not able to be reproduced in supplements.

Being even slightly overweight and getting pregnant can be an indication of poor muscle tone and poor dietary choices. Crash diets are more likely to steal the nutrients you need than to help you get into shape while getting pregnant. Being overweight before you get pregnant makes it more difficult for your heart to operate, as it should.  Heart attack and stroke during pregnancy are major concerns that women should have today while getting pregnant.

By having a complete physical before getting pregnant can help you avoid pregnancy complications. If there are hidden health issues, it’s better to discover them before a pregnancy than after.

Before getting pregnant, give up on your favorite bad habits such as smoking, drinking alcohol, and taking drugs.  These includes taking over the counter medicines on a regular basis – such as though filled with caffeine for an energy boost. Getting pregnant can be a strain on your body so do yourself a favor and stop activities that are slowing you down.

There are two reasons to create and follow an exercise program while getting pregnant that includes walking a lot. Walking is one of the best exercises that can be continued when you are pregnant and helps to shorten your labor.

Getting Pregnant – What to Avoid

  • ·         Infections and contagious diseases
  • ·         Household cleaning chemicals
  • ·         Radiation

Even before you begin to try getting pregnant it’s important to avoid infections and any other contagious diseases that you may be exposed to on a routine basis.  A common cold consists of the same virus as the STD known as Herpes and the same as what is called Shingles.  Even though you can survive a cold, the virus may remain in your system for a lengthy period.  Other infections such as cellulites, which are common in women that have bikini waxes, should be avoided as well. Getting pregnant with minor infections can cause serious complications.

Most household chemicals that are designed to kill bacteria and viruses are manufactured chemicals that can be ingested into your body through your hands or through contact with food prepared on counters. Try to avoid such chemicals while getting pregnant.  One of the best natural and non-toxic panty items that kill viruses, mold, and bacteria is white vinegar.

Very recently, airports have upgraded their radiation scanners and the radiation emission has increased.  If you fly frequently, avoid the scanners as often as possible by explaining to the airline personnel that you “may be” getting pregnant and request an alternative method of scanning.

Getting Pregnant – What Medicines to Avoid

  • ·         Avoid all street drugs (while getting pregnant or not)
  • ·         Avoid all prescriptions that do not belong to you
  • ·         Avoid caffeine, alcohol and energy drinks

Even women that take drugs – whether as a recreation or are heavily addicted – want to be mothers at some point.  It takes at least six full months of abstinence from street drugs including marijuana for your body to restore its immunity functions.  Getting pregnant is not for the irresponsible.

A friend’s prescription may help them with a medical problem but you may have a different underlying cause and the medicine could easily become a poison for you if you are getting pregnant.  Once in your system, it causes your immune system to be compromised.

Caffeine, alcohol and the energy drinks at your local quick stop are drugs as well.

Getting Pregnant – The Myths

  • ·         Your chances of getting pregnant increase by standing on your head after sex
  • ·         Douching keeps you from getting pregnant
  • ·         You can only get pregnant in the missionary position

One of my favorite myths about getting pregnant was to stand on your head after intercourse.  {It doesn’t work.}  It is great exercise allowing the blood to rush to your head -.if that’s what you’re after. There are many other myths regarding getting pregnant.

Douching is not going to help or prevent you from getting pregnant. It’s a matter of cleanliness.  You can enjoy sexual intercourse in any position and still get pregnant. Enjoying the intercourse is relaxing.

Getting Pregnant – The Perfect Diet

  • ·         High vitamin A, B complex and Selenium
  • ·         Eating small amounts several times a day
  • ·         Avoiding fast and processed foods when getting pregnant

Fresh fruits and vegetables are high in Vitamin A – especially carrots [cooked or raw] and cantaloupe. These foods are essential for your body if you are getting pregnant.  A surprising raw food high in Vitamin A is baby spinach.  The main thing to remember at all times is to wash all fresh foots –even meats – before cooking with them.  Microbes can build up and cause major illnesses without any difference in taste to the food.

If you are thinking about getting pregnant, eating small portions several times during the day enables you to consume the necessary vitamins and minerals that your body needs to be healthy.  Nuts, fruits and salads with spices that are incorporated into the dressing or combined with lemon or lime juice is a great filler meal when you are getting pregnant.

Fast foods are full of unhealthy fats and processed foods such as frozen or canned vegetables and fruit have most of the nutrients cooked out of them.  Avoid them as much as you can when you are getting pregnant.
